Our Future

“We take nothing to the grave with us, but a good or evil conscience…It is true, terrors of conscience cast us down; and yet without terrors of conscience we cannot be raised up again.” - Samuel Rutherford

Sabbath and Justification

A PCA minister just posted this on his blog and I find it quite interesting.

Westminster Shorter Catechism 37

While studying for ordination, I have been memorizing the shorter catechsim once again and came across #37. I have found it quite encouraging and it goes along with the sermon preached this past Sunday that our bodies will be raised up and reunited with our souls at Christ’s second coming, but before then will remain in the grave. This might even be one of my favorites!

Q. What benefits do believers receive from Christ at death?

A. The souls of believers are at their death made perfect in holiness, and do immediately pass into glory; and their bodies, being still united to Christ, do rest in their graves, till their resurrection.
